About this experience
This will be a real adventure for children and their parents! We will travel back in time as if on a time machine. After all, in the Louvre, decorations can be changed very quickly and you can move from one era to another. Children will be waiting for interesting creative tasks. In a fun format, they will get acquainted with the art of ancient civilizations, treasures of the French royal crown, and the creations of Leonardo da Vinci.
What to expect
You will see:
- In the 'Ancient Mesopotamia' department - five-legged spirits Shedus, a statuette of Ebih-Il, the Code of Hammurabi
- In the 'Near East' department - a wheel dating back 5,000 years
- In the 'Greek Sculpture' department - the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace
- In the Apollo Gallery - the crown of Louis XV
- In the 'Renaissance' section - Leonardo da Vinci's paintings 'The Holy Family', 'La Belle Ferronnière', 'Mona Lisa'
During the quest, children will:
- Find out why signs were marked on clay tablets in Mesopotamia, why there were many clay artifacts, and how they have survived to this day
- Learn to write in cuneiform
- Determine what the five-legged bulls Shedus are guarding and why the statues of the king-builder Gudea have no heads
- Get acquainted with the temples of Ancient Greece and the chief gods of Olympus
- Find the largest diamond in France
- Understand why da Vinci's works are different from paintings by other artists
- Discover the secret of the Mona Lisa's abduction and, like real detectives, help return the painting to the Louvre
