About this experience
Istanbul is not just Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, and my route will help you see that! You will be enveloped in the spicy aromas of the Egyptian Bazaar, amazed by the legends of the Galata Tower, charmed by street musicians and Turkish delicacies on the bustling Istiklal Street. And the finishing touch will be the evening panoramas of Istanbul reflected in the waves of the Bosphorus.
What to Expect
Legends and Symbols of Istanbul
Our walk will begin at the Suleymaniye Mosque, which rises amidst a huge blooming garden. You will discover architectural similarities between the mosque and Hagia Sophia, examine the tombs of Suleiman and Roxelana, and enjoy the wonderful view from the observation deck. Next, you will encounter the noisy and colorful Egyptian Bazaar, which will immerse you in the atmosphere of the East. You will inhale the scents of spices, spices, and sweets, inspect exquisite leather goods, bright fabrics, and interesting souvenirs. And then we'll head to the Galata Tower - another architectural landmark. You will hear the story of the flight of the 'Turkish Icarus,' the scientist-experimenter Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi, who tested his self-constructed glider on the roof of the tower.
Creative Atmosphere of Istiklal
Our next destination will be the iconic pedestrian street in the Beyoglu district, which stretches from Taksim Square to the Galata quarter. On Istiklal, you will meet street musicians, colorful local youth, and people from all over the world. Local contrasts are especially interesting: expensive restaurants are adjacent to cheap taverns, temples of all denominations - to nightclubs, European buildings - to Asian ones. I will help you notice the details of Istiklal and show you where you can taste traditional and unusual Istanbul delicacies. In addition, we will visit the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, the largest Catholic church in Istanbul.
Evening Walk on the Bosphorus
A completely different Istanbul will reveal itself to you from the smooth surface of the Bosphorus - the legendary strait connecting the European and Asian parts of the city. During the boat trip, you will fully appreciate the scale of Istanbul, see its iconic sights from a different angle, reflected in the waves of the Bosphorus, and enjoy spectacular panoramas.
