About this experience
I invite you to a journey through two charming towns near Rome! In Castel Gandolfo, you will be able to touch the history of the Papacy and admire the volcanic Lake Albano. And in the hilly Nemi, you will feel the unhurried Italian life, try the best strawberries in the country, and relax your soul on idyllic terracotta streets.
What to expect
Castel Gandolfo: Papal Palace, Gardens, and Volcanic Lake
This is a favorite place of Roman emperors and aristocracy. It is also where the summer residence of the Pope is located: you will immerse yourself in the history of the Papal Palace and stroll through its magnificent gardens. Additionally, visit the stunning Baroque church by the great Bernini and enjoy the magnificent views of the volcanic Lake Albano.
Nemi - the Strawberry Heart of Italy
We will walk through the winding terracotta-colored streets and visit a cafe overlooking the volcanic lake, where once stood the floating palaces of Emperor Caligula. We will admire modern bronze sculptures and fountains. We will also talk about the city's main symbol - strawberries. Optionally, we will visit shops selling strawberry jams, liqueurs, soaps, and much more.
