What to expect
National Egyptian Museum
You will visit the grand repository of ancient Egyptian art, located in Tahrir Square. See the famous mask of Tutankhamun, pharaohs' sarcophagi, various papyri and manuscripts, mummies, statues of gods, and many other unique exhibits. Enter the halls dedicated to ancient Egyptian kingdoms - Ancient, Middle, and New, as well as the Roman Hall with artifacts from the period of Roman rule in Egypt.
Saladin Citadel and Alabaster Mosque
The Saladin Citadel is one of Cairo's main attractions. The huge round towers and 10-meter walls make a strong impression. The fortress is the residence of the rulers of Egypt. The citadel houses the Alabaster Mosque, built on the orders of Muhammad Ali. We will explore its decoration, the octagonal fountain for ablutions before prayers, and the tower with clocks - a gift from King Louis Philippe.
Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx
You will see the greatest architectural monuments, about 4 thousand years old: the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. During the tour of the pyramids, you will immerse yourself in the history of their construction, learn interesting facts about the building and burial of the pharaohs. We will pay special attention to the 20-meter statue of the Sphinx, whose face is turned towards the rising sun and the Nile.
