What to Expect
National Egyptian Museum
You will visit the grand repository of ancient Egyptian art, located in Tahrir Square. See the famous mask of Tutankhamun, pharaoh sarcophagi, various papyri and manuscripts, mummies, statues of gods, and many other unique exhibits. Enter the halls dedicated to the ancient Egyptian kingdoms - Ancient, Middle, and New, as well as the Roman hall with artifacts from the period of Roman rule in Egypt.
Saladin Citadel and Alabaster Mosque
Saladin Citadel is one of Cairo's main attractions. The huge round towers and 10-meter walls make a strong impression. The fortress serves as the residence of the rulers of Egypt. Within the citadel lies the Alabaster Mosque, built by the order of Mohammed Ali. We will explore its decoration, the octagonal fountain for ablutions before prayer, and the clock tower - a gift from King Louis Philippe.
Giza Pyramids and Sphinx
You will see the greatest architectural monuments, about 4 thousand years old: the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. During the inspection of the pyramids, you will delve into the history of their construction, learn interesting facts about the building and burial of the pharaohs. Special attention will be paid to the 20-meter statue of the Sphinx, whose face is turned towards the rising sun and the Nile.
