Itinerary
During the guided walk, you will get acquainted with artifacts from the Illyrian and Roman eras of the city, formerly known as Butua and often referred to as Civitas Antiqua - 'Old Town”. Budva's history dates back over 2500 years. The city was mentioned by Sophocles in the 5th century BC, and in the 1st century, apostolic preaching could be heard here. Roman patricians built their villas here, and Emperor Justinian erected a Christian basilica. Slavs converted to Christianity here in the 9th century, constructing temples and a fortress. Venice and Austria also left their mark here.
Today, the Old Town is full of romance and harmony, which you will experience strolling through its narrow streets and quaint squares.
Optionally, for an additional fee, you can visit the city's archaeological museum, Roman mosaics, the fortress, and the fortress walls.
