This route without long transfers will give you both beautiful and interesting places of Montenegro! You will be impressed by the panoramas of the Budva Riviera and the Bay of Kotor. You will delve into the theme of faith in the city of Cetinje and learn about the history of the country. You will hear about the mentality of Montenegrins, taste the famous prsut and bring home a photo masterpiece album.
What to Expect
Admire the Budva Riviera
Our trip will start with a drive up a mountain, but safe road above Budva. Reaching 850 meters, we will enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the city and the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, I will tell you about the history of Montenegro as a whole, about its geography and religion, and I will gladly share observations about the character and way of life of the local residents.
Touch the sanctuaries in Cetinje
This town, the ancient capital of Montenegro, is called the heart of the country. In the white stone Cetinje Monastery, you will see the greatest relics of Orthodoxy: the uncorrupt hand of St. John the Baptist and particles of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord. In the art gallery, I will show you an icon painted by St. Luke. Afterwards, we will take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Cetinje, passing by other iconic places.
Learn history and indulge in Njegusi
On the way to the final destination of the route, we will stop for a photo break at an altitude of 1100 meters. You will enjoy an impressive view of all the bays - Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi, and Risan. In the village of Njegusi, the ancestral village of the Petrovic-Njegos dynasty, we will talk about these rulers of Montenegro. This place on the slope of Mount Lovcen is known for prsut, cheese, and mead - if desired, you can try and buy everything.
On the way back to Budva, we will drive through Lovcen National Park: we will spend time at the foot of the eponymous mountain and the Mausoleum of Njegos. Then we will also see the resting place of Montenegrins, the so-called "Ivan's Trough" (King Nikola 1 also rested here).

- Duration of the tour is 4-5 hours. Starts at 9:00 or 15:00.
- In Cetinje, optionally, you can visit museums (tickets cost from 2 to 4€).
