About this experience
Discover the picturesque trail around Mount Sveti Spas! Unprepared travelers can easily get lost here, so it's better to go on a hike with a guide. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramas. You will see the remains of the Mogren fortress, admire the bays and the island of St. Nicholas. And I will tell you the stories associated with these places.
What to expect
We will walk the road that was supposedly built by the Romans. The route goes through a mountain trail, asphalt, and a populated area. You will see:
- Remains of stone structures. Along the way, we will come across ancient stone buildings — I will tell you how and when they appeared here.
- St. Nicholas island and the remains of the Mogren fortress, which was used by the Austro-Hungarian troops to control the approaches to the city. And, of course, Budva itself will be in the palm of your hand.
- Two bays — Uvala Jaz and Budva Bay — from a bird's eye view.
- Observation platform at Tivat Airport. From the northern side of the mountain, neighboring villages will unfold before us, and in the distance, you can see the city of Tivat, its airport, and the surrounding mountains.
You will learn about:
- What the Austro-Hungarians were doing here in the second half of the 19th century
- How a restaurant appeared instead of a church on the beach
- How Russian cadets ended up on Mogren beach in 1930
- What nickname the island of St. Nicholas received and what young people enjoyed doing there in the 1960s

The hike is suitable for active travelers without medical contraindications (adults and children from 7 years old). The maximum elevation gain is 210 m, the total gain is 416 m. The route is circular, in total, you will have to cover about 6 km.
