About this experience
Bremerhaven is the fourth largest port in Europe. On the tour, you will learn about its past, maritime trade, emigration, and beautiful ships. You will stroll through the harbor and the old town, visit museums that are interesting even for adults, and try Bremer fish. And from the observation deck, you will try to take in the vast sea at a glance.
What to expect
Along the Bremerhaven harbor
On a walk through the city center, you will get acquainted with its chronicles - from the purchase of this land from the king of Hanover to the present day. Visit the beautiful cathedral and learn who it is dedicated to, and also understand why Bremerhaven has 'seven winds'. We can stop at a cafe near the fountain, where they prepare ice cream according to ancient recipes - or visit a fish cafe, where you can try seafood and buy the freshest fish.
Take a walk along the promenade: in 2009 the local port was restored, and now it is a popular area for walks called Harbor Worlds. At any time of the year, you will enjoy beautiful landscapes and examine the museum's ship exhibits. And by climbing the observation tower, you will feel the breath of the sea, enjoy the water landscape and the city view, as well as take great photos.
City museums
Bremerhaven is also interesting for its museums. In the Emigration Museum, you will discover the real stories of thousands of people forced to leave their homeland in search of a better life across the ocean. If desired, we can visit the Maritime Museum and the submarine, where you will learn about shipbuilding and the maritime history of Bremerhaven. The living exhibits of the North Zoo, located right on the shore, will tell you about the Earth's fauna. And at the climate museum, you will take an interactive journey around the world!
