About this experience
Hamburg - the German 'Northern Venice' (hello to the twin city of St. Petersburg). There are even more bridges here than in Venice and Amsterdam combined - about 2500! Water rules the city, it's everywhere. Our journey on a river boat-ferry will feature industrial-urban landscapes, interesting stories, and, if desired, local delicacies. Suitable for both adults and children!
What to Expect
The mighty Elbe, with just over 100 km to the North Sea, already pulsates in a maritime rhythm in Hamburg. I suggest listening to this powerful pulse with me and embarking on a journey on a river boat-ferry.
What You Will See
Unusual tunnel under the Elbe, futuristic ship-like building, giant container ships, agile tugboats, ultra-modern port terminals, and the idyll of a captain's village - all await you on our route. Part of the journey will be by river ferry, and part on foot.
Along the way, we can try the most delicious fishbrötchen (traditional Hamburg fast food - buns with different types of fish) or cinnamon buns franzbrötchen.
Organizational Details
- Ferries are part of Hamburg's public transport system, regular tickets and day passes are valid on them. Since the tour involves further use of transport (at least to return to Landungsbrücken), it is optimal to immediately purchase a day pass (6.90 €). Starting from 2 people, it is most advantageous to buy a group day ticket, which is valid for a company of up to 5 people (19.90 €). The cost of the ticket is not included in the tour price.
- It can be very windy on the upper deck of the ferry and on the Elbe promenade, so please dress accordingly. Good news - it's warm and cozy on the lower deck!
- If you are going on a walk with children, please let me know in advance so I can prepare surprises for the young travelers.
