What to expect
Bremen past and present
You will hear the city's history, visit the Market Square where you can make a wish at the monument to the Bremen Town Musicians. You will see the Town Hall, admire the stained glass windows of St. Peter's Cathedral, and climb to its viewing platform, which offers an impressive panorama of the old city. I will then take you to Bremen's shortest street, the Böttcherstrasse, showcasing the perfect blend of traditional and expressionist styles in brick architecture. I will show you the monument to the medieval hero Roland and explain why the sculptor depicted a human head at his feet.
Bremen on the palate
At the Hachez store, you will learn the secret of the popularity of the "king of chocolates" and taste this sweet masterpiece. In the old quarter of Schnoor, you will see the magical process of caramel production and stop for a cup of coffee in a cozy old establishment, where I will talk about galleries, salons, exhibitions, and organ concerts, share local passwords and watchwords.
