About this experience
The Freedom Trail is a historic walking route that starts in Boston Common and stretches for 4.5 kilometers along the oldest and most richly endowed part of the city. During the tour, you will learn about key episodes in its past, without which it is impossible to understand the origins and essence of the history of US independence, and you will realize Boston's role as the ideological capital of the country.
What to Expect
Comfortable walk with care for you
Boston is also the pedestrian capital of the United States, here you can walk around the historic center on foot. The duration and complexity of the program are adjusted to your abilities and preferences: some people like a brisk pace and a brief introduction to the facts, while others need a leisurely walk and a serious conversation about history, people, and events.
As an experienced guide and life coach, I will accurately adjust the pace and accents for you personally and your group. I have conducted tours for children, teenagers, scholars, young hipsters, and older people. Everyone leaves with bright and deep impressions!
Boston's Role in US History
We will trace the path of North American immigration from 1620 to the present day. The legendary ship Mayflower and its passengers - the Pilgrims - who founded a landmark colony. Plymouth Plantation, Puritans, and the Salem Witch Trials. The first public school in America, the first library, the first subway, the first university. On the Freedom Trail, we will discuss the most important events that laid the foundation for the history of US independence.
You will also learn about famous personalities from Boston. Benjamin Franklin, Edgar Allan Poe, the Adams family, the Kennedy family, Charles Eliot, Henry Thoreau, Leo Bernstein, George Bush, Donna Summer, Ben Affleck - the list is endless!
Tour Highlights: Boston Common area, historic buildings like Faneuil Hall and the Old State House, Old Custom Tower - the old customs building and the first skyscraper in Boston, the first 17th-century hotel and tavern, the Holocaust Memorial, and other attractions.
