About this experience
To get acquainted with New York, one must start with the places where 'New Amsterdam' was born. You will peek behind the scenes of American history, global financial life, and US-Europe political relations, visit an old fort, and see the Statue of Liberty as European immigrants saw it in the 19th century. I will be happy to show you this amazing city as it is – with its atmosphere and architecture, and help you discover your New York.
What to Expect
At the dawn of American history
Before 1664, New York, founded by the Dutch, was called 'New Amsterdam.' You will walk through the most important places in the city's history during this period and imagine yourself as a European immigrant opening up new horizons. Before you will unfold not only the perspective of Manhattan's financial center, the famous Wall Street, and New York avenues, but also a retrospect of events that determined the fate of all of America. I will take you to Washington's headquarters and tell you how in America the CIA appeared before the regular army. In the Trinity Church, you will learn who the 'tricorner' Hamilton was for the country, and in a historic tavern, you will be transported 260 years back.
River cruise and the symbol of freedom
After a walk through the oldest part of the city, you will head to the pier where a huge ferry with two bows departs. And along a wide arc, you will ride towards the main postcard of the USA – the Statue of Liberty. We will sail past an island that remembers the face-to-face meeting of Gorbachev and Reagan with the participation of several translators and 12 bottles of 'Stolichnaya,' approach the legendary monument, and you will see it through the eyes of thousands of Europeans from a different era. And then you will visit Fort Clinton – one of New York's 6 'guards,' where once a bloodless transfer of power took place in the city, undisturbed by bronze cannons.
