On this guided walking tour, you will explore the center of the American capital: delve into the intrigues of the Oval Office and hear stories of legendary US presidents, stroll along the oldest 17th street and Lafayette Square, travel back in time to the eras of Lincoln and Jefferson. By tracing Washington's historical path, you will not only absorb the spirit of the great city but also gain insights into the current political trends of the States.
What to Expect
Iconic Places of Washington
Our walk will start at a place without which Washington cannot be imagined: the White House Visitor Center. You will learn the most important details about the residence of the current US president, the key decisions made here, and the political intrigues of the Oval Office. From the south lawn of the White House, we will gaze at the Jefferson Memorial, and then stroll to neighboring, equally significant landmarks. You will admire the facades of the US Department of the Treasury and Dolley Madison's house, the wife of the 4th US president, St. John's Episcopal Church, and Renwick Gallery. In Lafayette Square, we will explore the purpose behind the monuments placed here, discuss the structure of the presidential apparatus in America near Eisenhower's residence. The oldest 17th street in Washington will take you back to the origins of the city.
The City's History through Faces - From Lincoln to Trump
Step by step, you will trace the development of America's political mecca. We will talk about the intrigues of the White House, the past and present of Washington, pivotal events in its history, and the people who shaped it. The heroes of my narrative will be the first American president George Washington, the author of the 'Declaration of Independence' Thomas Jefferson, the legendary Abraham Lincoln who united the country. And, of course, the modern figures of the White House - Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and other prominent American politicians.
