Cairo is multifaceted and can be interesting not only with its pyramids. I offer you to become an Egyptian for a day and explore the locations that are of interest to the residents of Egypt. You will visit the most significant places for them and discover traces of different eras of Egyptian history.
What to expect
- Mohamed Ali Palace. Immerse yourself in the history of Egypt of the past century and see how the Egyptian Prince Mohammed Ali Tewfik lived. The palace interior combines various styles: European modern and rococo coexist with traditional Islamic architecture.
- Cairo Museum. Around 120,000 ancient artifacts found in Egypt are stored here, in the largest museum in Africa. You will see the statue of the first female pharaoh Hatshepsut; treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb; mummies, including animals; ancient Egyptian jewelry, clothing, and tableware.
- Al-Muizz Street. Admire the magnificence of the famous street, named after the first caliph and one of the founders of Cairo. Learn its unusual history and see many ancient madrasas and mosques – we will visit the most interesting of them.
- Khan El-Khalili Market. A real Eastern bazaar, where colorful fabrics, the sparkle of gold and silver, as well as the aroma of spices and coffee will transport you into an Arabian fairy tale.
