About this experience
This atmospheric journey through the history of ancient Egypt is also a friendly walk through Cairo. You will lose track of time among thousands of exhibits in the museum; ride a boat on the Nile, admiring the colors of our capital, and visit shrines imbued with the Orthodox spirit in a country of Islam.
What to Expect
Museum and 45 minutes in Cairo from the Water
Collections of Egyptian exhibits can be found in almost every country in the world, but the main and largest one is here, in Cairo. For a couple of hours, we will dive into the world of sarcophagi, papyri, and pharaohs. Walking through the halls with items that were used thousands of years ago is mesmerizing! After the museum, I will treat you to coffee at the nearest cafe and continue our immersion in the atmosphere of Egypt, but this time on the water. Five minutes by car from the cafe to the river - and you will enjoy a ride on a traditional boat on the Nile: we will sail past the landmarks of Cairo, talk about the history of the city and state, enjoy the sun and landscapes.
Orthodox Part of the City
The Coptic quarter is the oldest district of the capital. Even before the arrival of Muslims, the ancient Roman city of Babylon existed here. Many shrines have been preserved here: you will see the church of Abu Serga, the Church of St. George, and the Church of St. Mary. We also have the opportunity to see the decoration, so we will visit each church and talk about this Christian island in Muslim Cairo.
