Prehistoric Past of Georgia - Uplistsikhe
You will visit the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe, one of the oldest settlements in Georgia. Carved into the rock, it originated in the late 2nd - early 1st millennium BC. The cave fortress city captivates with its unusual appearance and is one of the most important monuments of Georgian culture. During the tour, you will not only admire this extraordinary creation but also realize its uniqueness and value - thanks to its layout, the city has preserved remnants of architectural and cult constructions built over several millennia. During the peak of Uplistsikhe, it included over 700 caves and cave structures, of which only 150 have survived to this day.
During the tour, we will stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants where you can taste the legendary Georgian khinkali or shashlik (not included in the tour price).
