About this experience
You will visit the legendary and mysterious ancient capital of Siam. In the 18th century, it was the largest city on Earth - home to over 1 million people. Today Ayutthaya is picturesque ruins and stone temples resembling structures from other worlds. You will visit the most iconic of them, learn about Ayutthaya's 400-year dominance in Southeast Asia, and the dramatic history of its end.
What to expect
- Wat Yai Chai Mongkol Temple - a functioning 15th-century Buddhist temple. You will see real monks, be able to light candles, and make a wish at the statue of the reclining Buddha. You will hear many legends associated with this place and see the legendary Stupa - a symbol of the victory of the Thai King Naresuan over the Burmese.
- Wat Mahathat Temple - the main symbol of ancient Ayutthaya. This was the site of King Rama I's palace, as well as the legendary Buddha's face entwined in the roots of the sacred Bodhi tree - we will tell you the story of its appearance.
- Wat Na Phra Men Temple - the only temple that survived the Burmese invasion. Here is a unique Buddha sculpture - we will explain why it holds great global significance.
- Wat Phra Si Sanphet Temple - used exclusively for royal ceremonies. The main attraction of the temple is the three chedis, standing in its center on a high platform.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram Temple, where scenes from the movie Mortal Kombat were filmed. The choice is unsurprising: the temple complex resembles an alien structure or mystical phenomenon from another world.
Midway through the Ayutthaya tour, you will have lunch at a restaurant near the Wat Yai Chai Mongkol Temple with Chiang Mai cuisine and a wide selection of non-spicy dishes.

Organizational details
- I or another guide from our team will conduct the tour
- Taxi cost from the city center to the meeting point or back is about 150-200 baht
- The temples are shown by Thai-speaking Russian staff working there, the rest of the time the program is conducted by a Russian-speaking guide
- All information is provided by the Russian-speaking guide, who also answers questions. Thai staff in the temples have limited knowledge of the Russian language, so they only show the objects. This is due to legislative restrictions on foreign guides conducting tours in temples.
- Thai-speaking Russian staff working at the temples may combine several mini-groups into one during the tour. This depends on the number of Russian-speaking groups arriving at a specific temple on a specific day, we cannot influence this. During peak periods (from 20.12 to 14.01 and from 28.04 to 12.05), group merging in temples always occurs.
- No headset is used for this program

- Full transfer service
