About this experience
You will explore the legendary and mysterious ancient capital of Siam. In the 18th century, it was the largest city on Earth with over 1 million inhabitants. Today, Ayutthaya is picturesque ruins and stone temples that resemble structures from other worlds. You will visit the most iconic ones, learn about Ayutthaya's 400-year dominance in Southeast Asia and the dramatic story of its demise.
What to Expect
- Wat Yai Chai Mongkol Temple - a functioning 15th-century Buddhist temple. You will see real monks, be able to light candles, and make a wish at the statue of the reclining Buddha. Learn many legends associated with this place and see the legendary Stupa - a symbol of the Thai king Naresuan's victory over the Burmese.
- Wat Mahathat Temple - the main symbol of ancient Ayutthaya. The palace of King Rama I was located here, along with the legendary Buddha's face entwined with the roots of a sacred Bodhi tree - we will tell you the story of its appearance.
- Wat Na Phra Men Temple - the only one that survived the Burmese invasion. It houses a unique Buddha sculpture - we will explain why it holds important global significance.
- Wat Phra Si Sanphet Temple - exclusively used for royal ceremonies. The main attraction of the temple is three chedis standing in its center on a high platform.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram Temple, where scenes from the movie Mortal Kombat were filmed. It's no wonder: the temple complex resembles an extraterrestrial structure or a mystical phenomenon from another world.
Midway through the tour of Ayutthaya, you will have lunch at a restaurant near Wat Yai Chai Mongkol temple, serving Chiang Mai cuisine and a wide selection of non-spicy dishes.

Organizational Details
- I or another guide from our team will conduct the tour
- The temples are shown by Thai-speaking Russian employees working there; the rest of the program is conducted by a Russian-speaking guide
- All information is provided by the Russian guide, who also answers questions. Thai staff at the temples have limited proficiency in Russian, so they only show the objects. This is due to a legislative prohibition on foreign guides conducting tours at temples.
- Thai-speaking Russian employees working at the temples may combine several mini-groups into one during the tour. This depends on the number of Russian-speaking groups arriving at a specific temple on a given day; we cannot influence this. During peak periods (from December 20 to January 14 and from April 28 to May 12), group merging in temples always occurs.
- No headsets are used during this program
Included in the price:
- Full transfer services
- Services of a professional Russian-speaking guide
- All entrance tickets and special fees
