About this experience
I invite you to places where Bangkok began its existence. You will visit the palace, which still hosts important events and where the statue of the Emerald Buddha is kept. Learn about the history of the royal family and the secrets of the temples. We will ride a Thai boat along the river, and I will tell you how Bangkok originated, why it is in this particular place, and how much it has changed since then.
What to Expect
- Grand Royal Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha - the first palace of the Rama dynasty representatives, where you will enjoy magnificent views and ancient architectural masterpieces. In the Royal Palace, you will be guided by a licensed Thai-speaking guide in Russian.
- One-hour ride on an individual longtail boat along the canals of Bangkok after visiting the palace. You will see Thai houses on the water, beautiful temples, a large reclining Buddha, feed the fish, and buy souvenirs.
- Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) on the banks of the Chao Phraya River - a symbol of Bangkok and all of Thailand. You will admire incredible colorful mosaics and impressive architecture from the boat, while I will tell you the story about Bangkok's landmark.
- Turtle Temple - visit the only temple located inside the stupa, feed the turtles, and cleanse your karma
- Flower Market - one of the top ten largest flower markets in the world. Here you will learn how Thailand's flower business differs from other countries.
- The most flowery and beautiful cafe in Bangkok - where we will relax and have coffee (optional)
- Crocodile Temple - this temple houses 4 crocodiles cared for by monks
Optional temples to visit:
- Golden Buddha Temple - where the world's largest golden statue (5.4 tons) with an unusual history can be found, dating back to around the 13th century.
- Chinese temple Guan Yin - the first temple in the Chinese quarter dedicated to the goddess Guan Yin, where people seek blessings for health.
- Reclining Buddha Temple (Wat Pho) - here you will encounter a giant Buddha statue awaiting nirvana and complete serenity. There is also a Hindu altar, the sacred Bodhi tree, and incredibly beautiful stupas symbolizing the era of the Chakri dynasty reign. Inside the temple, you will also be accompanied by a licensed Thai-speaking guide in Russian (visit after the Royal Palace).
