About this experience
In this walking tour, you will discover a different, charming, and peaceful Rome. We will stroll through the Orange Garden and enjoy the scent of the Roseto flowers. Ancient ruins, monuments, and churches will share their secrets. I will tell you amazing stories and help you see another side of Roman life.
What to Expect
Nature's Charm
We will visit the Orange Garden - an oasis of peace amidst the bustling city. Here, stories of love and heroism from past eras are kept, the mysterious well of the Knights of Malta beckons, and the optical illusions of St. Peter's dome mesmerize. In April, the scent of orange blossom and acacia flowers envelops everything. And in May-June, the city's Roseto opens its doors for those who wish to admire the beauty of the queen of flowers.
Architectural Monuments
The beauty of nature is complemented by the grand ruins of imperial palaces and the grandeur of the ancient hippodrome. We will climb the city's jagged defensive gates, pass by a real ancient pyramid, and visit the place where, according to legend, the she-wolf nursed the babies Romulus and Remus. You will see how the poverty of the former Ghetto coexists with the grandeur of the ancient Theater of Marcellus and the elegance of the Turtle Fountain.
Truth or Lie?
We will visit the Mouth of Truth square: I invite you to test your fate by placing your hand in the ancient "lie detector." I will reveal the mystery of the Arch of the Silver Smiths. Those interested can enter medieval churches, where relics of St. Alexius the Man of God, martyr Boniface, St. George the Victorious, and St. Valentine are carefully preserved. I will tell you about the ancient past of this area, about the clever ways to avoid the wrath of the gods, and the amazing practicality of the ancient Romans. You will hear about wills, the Ghetto, and the feats of early Christian saints.
