What to Expect
Secrets of Aventine
You will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of different eras - I will tell you how Aventine is connected to the legend of the founding of Rome, who settled here in ancient times and the Middle Ages. You will see the orange and rose gardens, learn the history of their appearance, and uncover the meaning of hidden symbols. You will also understand why Aventine is surrounded by a fortress wall and peek into the ancient church of St. Sabina, where you will hear about the founder's garden spirit, who was not afraid of evil forces. Additionally, I will show you the villa of the Knights of the Maltese Order and the famous lock well created by a Mason. On the square in front of the villa, you will decipher the symbols of the abolished but unbroken Templar Order.
Tiber Island and Trastevere
We will descend along the fortress moat and head towards the Tiber River. I will tell you the unusual history of Tiber Island and show you all its iconic places. Next, you will explore Trastevere - a truly Roman district with a special atmosphere not typical of the city center. Here you will see the church of St. Cecilia, medieval houses, a church with an underground, the basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, and monuments to Roman poets. I will reveal the places where Romans come for dinner or an aperitif. I will also introduce you to the secrets of Italian cuisine, traditions, and gestures.
Who Is This Tour For
For those who have already seen the main attractions and want to feel the spirit of non-touristy life in Rome and learn more about local traditions. Also, for lovers of mysteries and enigmatic stories.
