The capital of Italy surprises not only with architectural monuments and ancient history, but also with a special atmosphere of places where locals love to visit. I will show you the Borghese Park, take you to a mystical church where the movie 'Angels and Demons' was filmed, and introduce you to the 'sweet life' of the city on Babuino Street. You will also learn about the Italian baroque pioneer, admire Caravaggio's paintings, the Cappella Chigi, and the Trevi Fountain. Ciao, Rome!
What to Expect
Architectural and Landscape Appearance of Rome
The walk will start at the main gates of the Borghese Park - a cozy green 'oasis' in the center and a favorite place of Rome residents. The park houses a picture gallery with works of art by European painters and sculptors: Bernini, Caravaggio, Raphael, Rubens. We will stop at the Aurelian Wall with gates designed by Bernini in honor of Queen Christina of Sweden. I will tell you what this 'gesture' was associated with and explain how the Italian baroque pioneer influenced the appearance of Rome.
'Sweet Life' of the Italian Capital
Being on the most fashionable Babuino Street, you will experience the 'sweet life' of Rome - this is where all the main boutiques, restaurants, and trendy spots of the city are located. And then we will remember the eponymous film by Federico Fellini, stopping at the Trevi Fountain, where the main heroine of the movie bathed. I will take you to the workshop of the sculptor Canova to have a cup of aromatic coffee and talk about the legacy of the famous Italian. And, of course, we will visit the house-palace of the genius Bernini and the 'miraculous' bell tower of his eternal rival Borromini.
