About this experience
Join me on a picturesque green route covering the sights of Southern Cappadocia! You will be charmed by the crater lake Nar and visit the ancient cave monastery Selime. In Ihlara Valley, you will stroll along wooden paths along the river, enjoying the surrounding cliffs and canyons.
What to Expect
Amazing Cappadocia
We will head south through the region on excellent roads, admiring along the way mountains, lakes, colorful villages, and hamlets. I will share the history, traditions, and landscape features of this part of Cappadocia. The main excursion program includes:
- Nar Lake – you will see the picturesque crater lake surrounded by cliffs. I will tell you about the different versions of its formation and share legends associated with it.
- Ihlara Valley – a huge blooming gorge unlike the typical Cappadocian landscape. You will walk along wooden paths along the Melendiz River, enjoying stunning views of green trees and the stone canyon.
- Selime Monastery – an ancient monastery carved by monks in tuff caves. We will visit the main church and the monks' cells, the kitchen, and the stable with original mule stalls.
Organizational Details
- I will personally guide the tour for you, or another professional guide from my team
- Upon request, we can replace Nar Lake with the underground city of Derinkuyu
- Entrance tickets to Ihlara Valley and Selime Monastery are paid additionally – 15 euros per person
- The walk through the valley is at a comfortable pace and does not require special preparation
