About this experience
Standard sightseeing tours not for you? I understand and invite you to an atmospheric walk that will help you experience the Almaty vibe of lightness and celebration for the eyes, taste, and soul! You will discover the city through 5 senses: see street art, appreciate local music, smell the aromas of mountains and steppes, indulge in Kazakh delicacies.
What we will do
Start with coffee/tea at a café, just like the locals, hanging out in atmospheric places in the middle of the week :) Any time of the year you will feel the fragrances of local tulips, Astana, and even Kazakh oil!
Admire street art (5 graffiti spots on the route). You will hear fantastic stories behind the street art by artists and take plenty of colorful pictures for social media or loved ones.
Take a ride on the beautiful metro and talk about music. I will show you a station with stained glass windows; take you to the graffiti with the first soloist of the A'Studio group, Batyrkhan Shukenov, tell you about his challenging fate, and play legendary hits.
Finish the walk with a taste celebration at Green Bazaar. Walk to it along Almaty's Arbat - and then you will be treated to 6 types of nomad delicacies, cottage cheese with boiled condensed milk flavor, and Kazakh toffee!
Organizational Details
- You will pay the remaining cost to the guide in tenge at the exchange rate on the day of the tour
- Bring with you: drinking water, 100 tenge per person for metro fare, money for coffee and purchases at the Green Bazaar (if desired), sunglasses. Wear comfortable shoes, in spring and summer I recommend applying sunscreen.
