About this experience
On a walk through the cozy streets of Almaty, we will touch the past and feel the rhythm of the modern city. The Monument of Independence on Republic Square, the Abay Monument, the Kazakhstan Hotel, the splendid Ascension Cathedral, the Green Bazaar, and other landmarks of the metropolis are included in our route, which is designed without tiring climbs and adapts to your interests!
What to Expect
Starting from the central square of the city - Republic Square. This is the perfect place to walk through the milestones of Kazakhstan's history, as it is here, around the Monument of Independence, that 10 reliefs with key moments from the past are located.
The Opera and Ballet Theater. You will appreciate this Stalinist Empire-style building, and I will tell you about its special significance in the history of Kazakh opera and ballet. Galina Ulanova herself worked here at one time! The continuity of ballet schools is felt to this day.
At Abay Square, we will see a monument to the poet, the founder of Kazakh written literature - Abay Kunanbayev. And I will tell you about his contribution to our culture.
A pedestrian boulevard, which is loved by both Almaty residents and travelers. Here you will see the famous Almaty balneological resorts. And also two old government houses.
Panfilov Park - the oldest park in the city. It's time to remember the story (or legend) of the feat of the 28 Panfilovians!
Green Bazaar: its roots go back to the time of the Great Silk Road. Here, there is a real eastern atmosphere and that very Almaty vibe.
Along our way, there will be many other attractions, about which you will hear interesting facts. If you prefer not a historical, but an entertaining approach, I will build the route and stories so that you won’t get bored!
