About this experience
On this walk, you will feel warm and free - as if an Almaty friend will take you by the hand and lead you to favorite places. We will go where tourists do not go: to old books and paintings of a theatrical artist. We will visit shops with products of local craftsmen. We will visit places that remember Viktor Tsoi. We will talk about the city as a living being and feel the true spirit of Almaty - creative.
What to expect:
You will visit:
- A shop with a special Almaty atmosphere, old books, and vinyl music
- A monument to Viktor Tsoi, resembling a frozen frame from the movie 'Needle'
- Bright walls painted by local artists
- A shop-cafe with postcards, stickers, and other creative souvenirs from local designers
- A hidden place, not known to every Almaty resident, with paintings of a theatrical artist from the Kazakh 'Gogol-center'
You will learn:
- One romantic and one touching story, imbued with the scent of old books
- Why all Almaty roads lead to the 'Artishok' theater
- Which Almaty school Viktor Tsoi visited and what came out of it
- Why Almaty residents do not work, but spend all their time in cafes
- And why they turn all the cards upside down
Organizational details
- You pay the remaining part of the cost to the guide in tenge at the exchange rate on the day of the tour
- The tour is on foot, but if desired, it can be done by car. Driver services are paid separately - from 4000 tenge per hour.
