About this experience
Perhaps someone is unfamiliar with the work of Niko Pirosmani - the outstanding artist of Georgia. But everyone knows the song 'Million Scarlet Roses,' composed about his love story! Pirosmani's life is woven from legends. We will try to figure out where the fiction ends and the truth begins. We will visit the places that surrounded the master in his last years. And we will even meet the characters from his paintings.
What to expect
The Spirit of Pirosmani
- We will walk through the streets of Tbilisi, which still retain the color of the Old Town, from Mushtaid Park to Pirosmani Street. If you feel like sketching along the way - great! Nobody taught Pirosmani to draw, he was a primitivist. And he would definitely approve of your impulse :)
- Our tour includes light flash mob elements, so don't be surprised if we meet a couple of characters, descended from the paintings of Niko Pirosmani, on the streets or in the courtyards of Tbilisi. We will chat with them, and perhaps hear a couple of unknown stories about the master.
We will visit:
- Mushtaid Park, founded in the first half of the 19th century. It was here, on a warm May evening, that the artist met his love - the one to whom he presented a million scarlet roses. We will recall the most romantic episodes associated with the park.
- Deserter's Market, which operated even in Pirosmani's time. The market has preserved its color: noise and buzz, the smell of spices, delicacies, and fruits. Niko often visited the bazaar or the smoking houses nearby. We will talk about the typical menu in Tiflis taverns at the beginning of the 20th century.
- Pirosmani House-Museum on a small street, where the artist spent his last years of life. You will see what the master's life was like, and hear the story of how fame caught up with him in a modest hovel under the stairs.
During the walk:
- We will recall the history of the district where Pirosmani lived
- We will revive old Tiflis with the help of actors. There will also be an episodic role for you!
- We will recreate the picture of the artist's last day of life
- With the help of old photographs, we will understand how the city has changed since then
Organizational Details
- Route length - about 4 km. It will be difficult for children under 8 years old to walk.

- The tour will be conducted by me or another guide from our team

Huge thanks to the coolest team of guides Vlas, Denis, Margo, and Vakhtang for the excursion-theatrical performance that we attended with my friends. We listened to beautiful romance, drank wine with cheese, and delved into the biography of Pirosmani. Our group was incredibly thrilled with the time ...
