In one day, you will encounter the main natural treasures of Machakhela Gorge - see how waters of the two main rivers of Adjara merge, be inspired by virgin mountain landscapes, stroll along the paths of relic Colchis forest, and see a waterfall hidden behind the tree crowns. On a hot day, you can refresh and relax by a cool river, listening to stories about the inhabitants of Adjarian mountains. Following along picturesque mountain rivers, you will see suspension bridges, a walk on which is like an extreme adventure, and millennia-old arched bridges of Mirveti and Tkhemlara.

What the walls of Gvara fortress will tell you
Pages of Adjara's history will be revealed to you on top of Gvara fortress, built in the 6th century. You will learn how Georgians defended against enemy invasions, how the walls of Gvara fortress and Machakhela Gorge itself helped them. You will observe clouds lazily drifting, clinging to mountain peaks, reach the foot of the waterfall and try honey prepared according to an ancient Adjarian recipe. And then visit the ethnographic museum in an ancient mosque, where you will get acquainted with the centuries-old history of mountain peoples, learn about their way of life and traditions.
