What to Expect

Armenian Sanctuaries and View of Mount Ararat
The tour will start with a journey along the vast Ararat Valley. Along the Araks River, you will visit the Khor Virap monastery near the Turkish border, from the walls of which you will see the biblical Mount Ararat. At the end of the tour, you will be able to compare your impressions of the sanctuary with the emotions you will experience at the spiritual center of Eastern Armenia, Noravank Monastery, a family mausoleum of the Orbelyan princes. Here, you will be treated to a view of the Arpa River gorge. I will tell you about the history of these ancient sanctuaries and their architecture. And in the village of Areni, you will be a guest of my family.

Wine Tasting and Local Traditions
The village of Areni has long been known for its winemaking traditions, which I will introduce you to. My family has been winemakers for five generations, so you will hear a story about the wine making technologies firsthand. You will also learn when different types of drinks are produced throughout the year. And you will definitely taste those that will be on our table during your visit. You will get acquainted with the indigenous wine "Areni," with pomegranate dry and semi-sweet wines, and from October to December, you will try young wine, similar to the French Beaujolais. We also offer you varieties of fruit vodka: peach, plum, grape, or apricot.
