About this experience
We invite you to a rich and soulful adventure in the heart of Armenian winemaking. You will enjoy picturesque views and aromatic wines, appreciate medieval architectural masterpieces, and hear interesting stories. We will tell you about indigenous and endemic wines, wild grapes, local traditions, and the main hero of our journey - the Areni grape variety.
What to expect
Khor Virap Fortress-Monastery. Here we will uncork the first bottle of wine made from the Areni grape variety and greet the biblical Mount Ararat. You will learn how Noah planted the first vine here.
Family-owned boutique winery. Everything is ready for the start of the tasting, but first - meet the winemaker, learn about the production history, take a walk in the vineyards, explore the terroir, and immerse yourself in traditions. You will try several wines made from Areni and snacks seasoned with heartfelt conversations.
Noravank Monastery - a gem of medieval Armenian architecture. Ancient winemaking artifacts were found here. You will see thickets of wild grapevines and ancient wine presses in a picturesque canyon.
Mountains amidst endless vineyards. You will taste wonderful rosé and aged dry red wine made by another winery that uses Areni. You will see century-old vines that are carefully tended to and stroll through the vineyards.
