About this experience
Nagoya is more than just a colorful city. It is a region where the unification of Japan began. A focal point of the country's main Buddhist shrines and industrial power. Here you will understand why the Japanese are born Shintoists and die Buddhists. You will learn how the Toyota company replaced textiles with automobiles. And you will discover the secrets of the ancient fan craft.
What to Expect
Toyota Museum. Did you know that originally Toyota produced equipment for the textile industry? Let's talk in detail about the company's development history. The museum has many interactive exhibits that are interesting for both adults and children.
Nagoya Castle. Belonging to the flatland castles, it consists of five levels and seven floors. Inside the castle, there is an operational Museum of the History of Nagoya.
Fan-making workshop founded in the 18th century. Under the guidance of experienced masters, you will create your own fan using ancient techniques. The duration of the masterclass is 1.5-2 hours.
Fukoji Temple is worth a visit to see the 7-meter golden statue of Kita Daibutsu (Great Buddha of the North), as well as the statue of the bodhisattva Nyoirin Kannon (it is believed that she fulfills any wish) and figurines of Jizo representing the twelve Chinese zodiac signs.
Osukannon Temple is the main Buddhist shrine in Nagoya. The key object of worship in the temple is a wooden statue of Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy. The statue miraculously survived fires, unlike most of the original building.
Osu Shopping Street is famous throughout Japan: it is home to a large number of boutiques and restaurants to suit any taste.
