What to expect
City's highlights
We will visit the most popular places in Kyoto. In the program:
- Arashiyama - a picturesque corner in the west of the city, home to the world-famous Tenryu-ji Temple. In the temple grounds, you will see a garden, beautiful in any season, and its 'pearl' - the Dry Waterfall. In addition, enjoy the adjacent bamboo grove with an enchanting aroma of grasses and graceful slender trees.
- Ryoan-ji Zen Buddhist Temple - you will walk along wonderful well-kept paths and see the Dry Garden, 15 Stone Garden, and Philosophers' Walk. I will show you an ancient spring in the shape of a coin, where monks fetched water for tea ceremonies. I will also explain why the master of garden architecture placed stones in the gardens in a certain way.
- Kinkaku-ji Golden Pavilion Temple - the city's symbol. I will tell you the sad history of this place, once risen from a fire, and show you a 600-year-old pine tree, the 'Dragon Gate' waterfall, and the 'Charm of the Setting Sun' tea house. You will be delighted by the magnificent symbiosis of nature and architecture and the amazing harmony of the magical temple.
- Kiyomizu-dera Pure Water Temple - a true national favorite. Travelers from all over the world rush to it along narrow ancient streets. I will tell you the secret of this heavenly place and to whom it is dedicated.
