About this experience
Stylish, traditional, futuristic - this is all about Tokyo! During the tour, I will help you feel the unity of opposites: we will visit the Shinto shrine Meiji Jingu, explore the fashion trends on Takeshita Street, meet Hachiko at Shibuya station, visit designer shops, and taste unseen Japanese sweets.
What to Expect
About the traditions of Shintoism at Meiji Jingu Shrine
Get acquainted with traditional Tokyo starting from Meiji Jingu Shrine. Here you will learn the differences between Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, and hear interesting facts about the era of Emperor Meiji. On the way to the shrine, we will stroll through the shady Yoyogi Park among thousands of trees donated by people from all over Japan, and participate in a sacred ritual - make a wish by writing it on a wooden votive tablet called ema.
Colors and flavors of Takeshita Street
Leaving the park, you will find yourself in a favorite place of Japanese youth - the small but noisy and crowded Takeshita Street. You will be amazed by the fashionistas in extravagant outfits and, of course, by the unique sweets: "French" crepes, rainbow-colored cotton candy the size of a small umbrella, or eclairs with flavors that change depending on the season!
Japanese-style shopping: from Oriental Bazaar to stylish boutiques
The next stop is Tokyo's Champs-Elysées, or Omotesando Street. Here you will find boutiques of leading brands and the oldest souvenir shop Oriental Bazaar. Turning into the inner streets, we will discover stores with original items by young Japanese designers and stalls with authentic street food.
Stroll through the Shibuya district
Leisurely, we will reach another iconic place in Tokyo - Shibuya station, where you will see the monument to the legendary dog Hachiko, a symbol of selfless love and loyalty in Japan. We will visit the busiest intersection in the world, go up to an observation deck, and explore the inner streets of the district.
Along the way, I will gladly share photo spots and provide you with valuable practical tips that will be useful for traveling in Japan.
