On this tour, Acre - a remarkable city that has preserved the spirit of the ancient East, will reveal its mysteries to you.
Program
We will spend a full day in Acre. We will enter the ancient part of Acre through the Land Gate, walk on the Turkish City Walls, visit the mint workshop, the Fortress of the Knights Hospitaller Order of the 13th century, Al-Jazzar Mosque, the Turkish Bath Museum, the Templars' Tunnel, walk to the Port and stroll through the Eastern Bazaar, watch how they catch seafood, and have lunch at one of the city's fish restaurants. If desired, we can visit the Bahai Gardens in Acre or take a boat trip on Haifa Bay.
The Land Gate, through which goods were brought into the city during the Crusades, still serves as the main entrance to ancient Acre, and the door shutters date back to the 12th century! The Venetian merchant house - now the Akkotel hotel, has stood in its place since the 15th century. And the Turkish city walls are the widest preserved in our region, with a width of up to 60 meters! The height of the vaults of the Hospitaller Fortress reaches up to 12 meters, and this splendor no one has seen for 700 years.
