About this experience
Baku is a city sparkling with lights and enveloped in the winds of Khazri and Gilavar. I will not only take you to its most important places, but also show you remote, seemingly inconspicuous corners that many tourists are not even aware of. I will also reveal how the ancient Azerbaijani capital manages to combine national color with a modern look.
What to Expect
Old Baku
You will uncover the secrets and legends of the Maiden Tower, appreciate the eastern decorations of caravanserais, and feel the mystical atmosphere of ancient mausoleums and the spiritual tranquility of mosques. Then you will see the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Khan's Palace, and the fortress defensive structures. You will find the places where 'The Diamond Arm' was filmed, visit the artist Ali Shamsi's workshop, and see the house where the holy Mir Movsum Aga lived.
City Wall and Oil Magnates' Palaces
In the final part of the walk, you will leave the Old City and explore the outer part of the city wall. You will stroll through the Governor's Garden, find a secret passage of the ancient fortress, and examine the Philharmonic Building, the Palace of Happiness, the Rothschild residence, and the Sadikhov House.
Organizational Details
If you get hungry during the walk, we can stop by a local restaurant where you can try dishes of the national cuisine. Food and drinks are not included in the tour price.
