About this experience
In Tokyo, it's impossible to pinpoint a main center: the metropolis is a collection of subcenters, with its own Upper and Lower Cities. I invite you to explore with me the Lower City - an ancient place settled long before the emergence of Tokyo. You will see shrines and temples revered from generation to generation, stroll down a marketplace with small restaurants, and of course, visit authentic corners known only to locals.
What to expect
We will visit several Shinto shrines, where you will have the chance to ask the ancient Japanese Gods for health, wealth, strong relationships, career advancement, business success, good education for children, and even your most secret wish! - You can share it with the Gods.
If desired, we can have a meal at one of the numerous local eateries. And take note - all the appetizing food on display in the windows is fake! It's meticulously handcrafted from plastic!
To conclude our tour, we will walk through a special street market for restaurant owners. Among the items for sale, we will marvel at the craftsmanship of various food replicas. Be warned, the prices significantly exceed the cost of real food! And if you didn't have an appetite before, it should awaken after the last stop of our tour.
Organizational Details
The tour is on foot. Comfortable footwear is recommended. Lunch expenses may range from 1200 to 2000 yen. Also, consider the subway fare from your hotel and back or to the next tour location.
I can suggest some places for further exploration on your own:
- visiting the Tokyo Sky Tree (the new Tokyo tower);
- traveling to an artificially made island with futuristic views by water or underground transport;
- visiting Japanese baths with different waters, massages, and Korean body peeling.
