About this experience
Descendants of an influential dynasty close to the Medici themselves. One of the family members was a Pope, while others served as ministers of the Duchy of Tuscany. Sounds like a trailer for a historical movie, but it's reality. You will have the opportunity to peek into the counts' palace, usually closed to visitors. The owners themselves will lead the tour, show portraits of illustrious ancestors, and share about their family.
What to Expect
Counts' Treasure
The palace is adorned with magnificent baroque-style frescoes and an incredibly beautiful grotto. You will see a charming courtyard and a beautiful terrace with a panoramic view of Florence. Admire the elegant decorations and paintings from the family collection, which has become a world heritage.
Conversations in Aristocratic Circles
From the mouths of the Count and Countess, you will hear interesting stories about the dynasty's life, as well as amusing family tales. You can ask questions and find out:
- Whether the counts are currently involved in the city's political life
- If there is still a society of noble Florentines and how their gatherings proceed
- How to address the counts today - by mentioning their title or in a simpler way
- If their children want to live in Italy and continue their parents' work
- If there can be brides or grooms without titles in the count's family
The Count and Countess are very pleasant people who always strive to create a warm atmosphere for guests. They are happy to answer all questions.
You can choose between two tour options.
Option without wine tasting
The Countess shows the grand palace: frescoes, grotto, paintings, and portraits of dynasty members, a terrace with a splendid view of the city. The tour is accompanied by a narrative about the dynasty, conversations, and Q&A.
Option with wine tasting
The Counts show another luxurious palace, a terrace with a view of the Florence Cathedral, and a wine cellar. They offer a tasting of their own wine production. They chat in a friendly manner, talk about the dynasty and family life, and answer questions.
