You will stroll through ancient alleys amidst stone fortified towers - I will tell you about the conflict between wealthy family clans that led to the construction of these walls. I will introduce you to the bustling city trading place and explain how the grain market turned into the Orsanmichele Church.

We will also talk about the work of the famous Florentine poet Dante Alighieri, his ideal love for the beautiful Beatrice Portinari, ponder on the concept of his main book - the 'Divine Comedy'. Additionally, you will hear about the secret conspiracies of medieval wealthy families and understand the intricacies of life at that time: why wine was considered 'food', what else famous Florentines ate, and the purposes of using spices.

If you wish, we will visit the Davanzati Family Palace - an ancient tower-house, a real museum rarity! We will tour the main rooms of each floor: the reception hall, dining room, bedroom, study, huge kitchen, and - a unique medieval toilet. We will admire the beautiful collection of chests and examine the walls depicting scenes from the romantic knightly history of the 13th-century 'Castellansha from Verzi'.
