About this experience
I invite you to stroll through places rarely visited by tourists: the eastern quarters of Kadikoy and Uskudar, Armenian and Greek streets. You will feel the spirit of real Istanbul with bustling bazaars, ancient mosques, and local cafes. And to top it off, you will climb the Chamlidja hill and be amazed by the views of the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara!
What to expect
Diverse Istanbul
You will visit the brightest and most distinctive districts of the city. The excursion program includes:
- Kadikoy - one of the oldest districts of Istanbul. Here you will see a picturesque street with umbrellas, a 19th-century mosque, and a noisy bazaar where only locals shop.
- Armenian Quarter - I will show you the Armenian church and cemetery and explain why many local Armenians decide to convert to Islam.
- Uskudar - a district with a pronounced eastern atmosphere. You will learn why in antiquity it was called the 'Golden City' and what happened here during the Ottoman period. You will also see Turkey's smallest mosque, admire the view of the famous Maiden's Tower, and, if you wish, taste fish in a local restaurant.
- Greek Quarter - you will stroll through picturesque streets with colorful houses and cozy cafes and feel like in real Europe!
- Chamlidja Hill - climbing to its top, you will enjoy a picturesque panorama of the Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Princes' Islands. You will also see Turkey's largest mosque, accommodating 63,000 people.
