About this experience
Istanbul is not only the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We have prepared a rich route for you to explore less known but equally interesting places! You will stroll through the colorful neighborhoods of Balat, Kadykoy, Uskudar, and Kuzguncuk. Take a ride on different types of transport and see the city from above, fall in love with the colorful houses and cobblestone streets.
What to expect
Suleymaniye Mosque and Balat
You will visit the magnificent 16th-century Suleymaniye Mosque, then head to the picturesque Balat district: visit the Church of St. George the Victorious and admire the historic building of the Greek Orthodox Lyceum. To see the Golden Horn strait, climb to the panoramic platform with a magnificent view. This is where the European part of our walk will end - we will board a ferry and sail to Asia!
Colors of Asian Istanbul
We will explore the prestigious, cozy, and civilized district of Kadykoy: here you will find both historic architecture, graffiti, and a bustling market with fresh fish. In the neighboring Uskudar, I will show you the religious faculty of Marmara University, an unusual glass mosque, and the place from where soldiers of the Ottoman Empire set off to conquer other countries. In addition, you will visit the charming neighborhood of Kuzguncuk with colorful wooden houses and the hill of Camlica, offering stunning views of Istanbul.
