About this experience
I invite you to explore Istanbul in all its diversity: you will float on a boat along the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn, take a ride on a funicular and stroll along picturesque promenades, admire mosques and churches. What to expect
The Golden Horn and European Istanbul
We will start our journey in the European part of the city. Sailing on a boat on the waters of the Golden Horn, you will see the Bulgarian Church, the Greek High School, the Koch Museum, and marvel at the diverse panoramas of Istanbul. We will disembark on the shore exactly where the powerful of this world once landed to pledge to Allah and the people before ascending the throne. I will tell you why this place is so revered by Muslims and why boys are brought here before the circumcision ritual 'sunnet.' You will also try salep here - a delicious local milk drink.
Across the Bosphorus - to Asia!
You will see the famous 'cafe on the cemetery,' take a funicular ride, and see the mosque built by the pasha of Sultan Suleiman. I will tell you about the place that Suleiman set aside for the construction of a religious complex and explain whether his choice was random. Before you know it, we will find ourselves at Eminonu Pier, from where we will take a ferry to Asia, where a completely different world reigns. Walking through the colorful Uskudar district, you will hear stories about the Maiden's Tower and see the Valide Sultan and Mihrimah mosques. The walk will end with a friendly coffee break with delicious Turkish desserts!
