About this experience
From Budva, we will head towards the mainland part of Montenegro — it is here among the mountains that the picturesque canyons of the Tara, Moracha, and Sushica rivers, the wooded slopes and lakes of Durmitor Park, ancient monasteries, and the high-altitude town of Zabljak are hidden. In one day, you will see the most beautiful corners of central and northern Montenegro, take incredible photos, and truly fall in love with the pristine nature of these places.
What to expect
The beautiful Moracha River Canyon
We will drive through the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica, and along the way, we will talk about the city's history. Our route will then pass along the Moracha River Canyon — an amazing natural wonder that impresses with its beauty and grandeur. Here you will take wonderful photos and then pass by the medieval Moracha Monastery, which is part of the main tourist routes in Montenegro.
Europe's deepest canyon and the Đurđevića Tara Bridge
The most impressive place of our journey will be the Tara River Canyon, which, in depth, is second only to the Grand Canyon in the USA. We will drive along the canyon and make a photo stop at the incredibly high and beautiful Đurđevića Tara Bridge, where, if you wish, you can descend through the canyon on a zipline.
A walk in Durmitor National Park
In the high-altitude town of Zabljak, we will stop for lunch at an authentic national restaurant, and then head to Durmitor National Park. Here you will stroll through the surroundings of the glacial Black Lake and learn about its geographical phenomenon, which not every local is familiar with. Then we will stop at the Sushica River Canyon, where you will enjoy the magnificent panoramas of the mountainous Montenegro.
The emerald waters of Piva Lake
After crossing the Sedlo Pass, you will find yourself at the fantastically beautiful Piva Lake. Here you will enjoy the landscapes of the emerald water surface, visit the 16th-century Piva Monastery, which is located away from tourist trails and therefore has preserved a unique atmosphere. After learning about the history of the monastery, you will return through the town of Niksic.
