What to Expect
Treasures of Biogradska Gora National Park
On the territory of the national park, you will see a complex of mountains, glaciers, lakes, and meadows of incredible beauty, as well as the highest lake in Montenegro, located on the top of Biogradska Gora. The surrounding arrays of trees, reflecting in the lake's smooth surface, give it a unique blue-green color. The park is home to almost 90 species of trees, 80 species of butterflies, numerous diverse birds, reptiles, and other animals. Biogradska Gora is not just a masterpiece, but a true biological treasure trove. The air temperature in the summer season noticeably differs from the coast, so if you want to take a break from the exhausting sun, this wonderful place will definitely appeal to you.
Pleasant time in the midst of wild nature
Here you can enjoy boating on the lake, walk along the shoreline on a tourist trail, or venture deeper into the park's trails to feel the power of this ancient forest. If you prepare in advance and bring a picnic basket, then enjoying shashlik cooked in a specially designated area will be a pleasant way to remember the views of this extraordinary place.
Stops in unusual places
Along the way, we will visit the mountain town of Kolasin with fountains that operate in summer and winter. You will be offered the best 'kachamak' in Montenegro at a national restaurant - the traditional dish of the northern region of Montenegro. And a visit to the ancient Moraca Monastery will not only introduce you to the history of the Orthodox sanctuary but also leave you with vivid impressions of the beautiful Moraca Canyon and the emerald Moraca River.
