About this experience
You will walk through the halls of the Center of Contemporary Experimental Art - known by its Armenian acronym NPAK - and explore the exhibited works. We will talk about the overall concept of the exhibitions, discuss in detail the most interesting exhibits, the authors, and their methods. You will learn how contemporary art explores the experience of the past and responds to the context of today.
What to Expect
You will view sculptures by Armenian artists in the courtyard of the Center, works from the permanent exhibition Armenia Diaspora, and temporary exhibitions that regularly change while remaining true to a unified concept. We will tell you:
- Who is Sonia Balassanyan, how she curated an exhibition of Armenian artists in New York, and what came out of it
- Where art is created
- How the Center evolved from an exhibition space into a large art venue
- The connection between NPAK and the Venice Biennale
- How artists exchange experiences and the dialogue between different generations takes place
Organizational Details
The tour will be conducted by one of the staff members of NPAK.
