About this experience
Yerevan undoubtedly has a lot to say about itself. And I will become a kind of guide in this conversation. I will introduce you to the main attractions of the city, and through them to the culture and traditions of Armenia. During the walk, I will share stories related to our capital. We will form an idea of it from the moment of its birth to the celebration of its 2800th anniversary.
What to expect
We will walk through the significant places of the city:
- Republic Square
- Aznavour Square
- Ring Boulevard
- Cascade Complex
- Opera Theater
- Swan Lake
- Northern Avenue
- Fountains dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan
We will discuss with you various stories hidden in the streets, monuments, and buildings:
- where the first Armenian radio was broadcast,
- what Aznavour Square was like in the early 20th century,
- what Armen Dzhigarkhanyan 'stole' when leaving Yerevan,
- which city character is directly related to Hollywood,
- what is common between Yerevan and Michelangelo's work,
- where the Yerevan Bermuda Triangle came from,
- where the faces of party officials are hidden,
- who and how used the nose of Arno Babajanyan in their work,
- which Armenian totem is depicted on a collectible stamp worth 200 drams,
- which memorial cosmonaut-aviator of the USSR Georgy Grechko said 'Let's go!' when creating,
- and much more interesting.
