China is a vast country with many culinary schools. The main four are Shandong, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Huaiyang. Each has its own history and unique cooking methods. You will learn about the nuances of each, choose 3 dishes, and cook them with a chef. Taste your creations and then take a stroll through central Beijing and enjoy a tea ceremony.
What to Expect
Basics of Chinese Cuisine
You will experience home cooking in a Chinese national courtyard, where you will:
- choose 3 dishes from a dozen options and prepare them under the guidance of a Chinese chef,
- learn many interesting details, from the correct knife handling to the food preparation sequence,
- discover the different culinary traditions of China and their key differences,
- taste personally prepared Chinese dishes!
The masterclass lasts about 3 hours.
Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City
- Tiananmen Square is one of the largest and most beautiful squares in the world. Here, you will see monuments to national heroes, the People's Assembly Hall, Mao Zedong's Mausoleum, and the Museum of Chinese History.
- The Forbidden City (Gugong) is located in the heart of Beijing. This impressive architectural complex with the Imperial Palace is stunning in size and beauty.
- A tea ceremony awaits you after the walk. Relax, taste different types of tea, and enrich your knowledge of Chinese tea culture.
