About this experience
While many know about the grandeur of Sololaki, the houses and courtyards of Chugureti remain a closed book for most. We will help you delve into this world that remembers the beauty of a bygone era: in a cozy group of up to 10 people, we will walk through grand buildings with paintings and wrought-iron stairs, uncovering their histories. And in the end, we will visit the Apollo Cinema - a masterpiece of modern style.
What to Expect
Colorful alleys of Chugureti. Our route will lead through the streets and courtyards of the former German colony. Unnoticeably, we will transition into the Tbilisi of the 19th century - with its cozy mansions and luxurious villas, soulful courtyards and profitable houses.
The grandeur! We will visit 5 grand entrances that are extremely difficult for an ordinary tourist to access. Behind the doors, you will find original paintings on the walls - some restored, some almost lost. As well as marble, spiral staircases, stained glass, stucco molding, and other remnants of former luxury that will convey the spirit of old Tbilisi.
A dozen stories about Tbilisi. In the elegant entrances and courtyards, touching stories will accompany you: we will talk about the German colonists and the paintings of the artist Telingater, understand the architectural legacy left by Andreolletti in Tbilisi, and recall the sad story of the merchant Chavchanidze.
Antique Apollo Cinema. In the finale, we will visit the building that housed the first cinema in Tbilisi (and one of the oldest in the world). Currently, this modernist masterpiece is closed to visitors - but of course, we will explore it not only from the outside but also from the inside.

The guide Georgiy is a master of his craft, he literally transformed into a conductor through the epoch both visually and in terms of acting. For 4 hours, it was abs...
