About this experience
The Acropolis was the religious center of Ancient Greece, while the Agora was the commercial and social center. It was here that citizens gathered to discuss the pressing issues of Athens. This was also where the marketplaces, courts, and municipal buildings were located. You will see what remains of them and decipher the basic tenets of ancient Greek philosophy, religion, and democracy.
What to Expect
During a 1.5-hour walk through the Agora, you will:
- Learn about the personalities that influenced the formation and development of the ancient city
- Appreciate the Hephaestus Temple - the best-preserved ancient temple in Greece
- Decode the features of the architecture of the 10th-century Byzantine Church of the Holy Apostles
- Visit the Agora Archaeological Museum and examine artifacts from different periods
- Unveil the meaning of 'ostracism' and where this name comes from

- Entrance tickets are paid additionally: 12 euros from April 1 to October 31, 6 euros from November 1 to March 31. Children under 6 years old enter for free.
