About this experience
This tour is for those who have already seen the main masterpieces and want to learn more about the colorful Samarkand. You will discover the history of the old Russian boulevard. Visit the ruins of a city that retains the memory of ancient Samarkand eras. See how silk paper is made and traditional carpets are woven. And in the new tourist complex, you will explore replicas of architectural symbols of Medieval Uzbekistan.
What to Expect
- Russian Samarkand. I will show you the beautiful boulevard with century-old chinars, the governor's house, and Russian churches.
- Ancient City of Afrosiab. On the outskirts of Samarkand, you will visit an archaeological complex at the site of a settlement that is 2750 years old. I will tell you about its emergence, flourishing, and destruction by Genghis Khan.
- Silk Paper Factory. At the craft production, you will get acquainted with the work of local potters and see how silk paper is made using ancient technology.
- Eternal City Complex. In the tourist center, opened in 2022 for the SCO summit, stylized landmarks from different cities of Uzbekistan will be presented before you.
- Carpet Factory. Here awaits you an exciting story of how woven Eastern masterpieces are created, and a small master class. Buying products is not obligatory ;)
